An extremely popular ancient variety (1851). Loose form flower of pure white with crimson flecks on a few central petals. Very floriferous with strong stems they are excellent for cutting arrangements and the large dark green foliage is great in gardens (mature flowers needs support ). Its’ exceptional qualities of growth, colour and fragrance is most desirable even after 160 plus years.
Opens yellow gold with lightly flared scarlet petals and green center with pink stigmas. Long stems with sequential opening sidebuds, a mature plant is typical of new open flowers for two weeks. Vigorous, medium height and strong stems in a wide spread bush, a mature well grown plant can form a 5ft mound yielding 4 to 5 dozen blossoms year after year. Upright to arching long 27″ stems maintain flowers above the foliage providing a low wide bush. Its’ large dark green leaves make an excellent landscape member lasting well into autumn.
